About Orange Beach

Here is some basic info from the wiki about Orange Beach:

“Orange Beach is a city in Baldwin County, Alabama. At the 2000 census the population was 3,784. It is part of the Daphne–Fairhope–Foley Micropolitan Statistical Area. …

Orange Beach, Alabama offers a wide selection of family beach vacation opportunities. From condos directly on the beach to just across the street, Golf course condo communities, beach houses and everything in between.”

About the beaches

An Orange Beach community web site has this info on the local beaches:

“Gulf State Park provides access to some of the most beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. The park’s beach pavilion, and the three public beach areas scattered along Alabama Hwy. 182 in Orange Beach, provide plenty of space to relax or play. Whether you’re looking for open beach, a spot to surf fish, or you just want to do some people watching, there’s plenty to do at the park’s beaches.

The facilities at the park’s public beach access areas are relatively new. A new beach pavilion was built after Hurricane Ivan destroyed the old one. The new facility, which opened in 2006, is larger and designed to better withstand hurricanes. Park facilities at Florida Point, Cotton Bayou and Romar Beach were all built after Hurricane Ivan.

In addition to the Gulf State Park’s beaches, there are four islands in the Terry Cove area that are popular with boaters. There is one public beach in Orange Beach on Wolf Bay. This park and beach area is owned and maintained by the City of Orange Beach.”
